Description

Sun from my window this afternoon...

First of all I'd like to thank you all for the favorites and comments. I feel glad that you like it.

Now, I want to say something about post processing.

This shot has been denied on a group where they say: "To much post processing and underexposed".

Well, this was not post processed at all, unless you consider cropping as post processing. Even if you do consider cropping as post processing I can't see how it can be overly cropped!

And the exposition is exactly where I wanted it to be. This is not a shot of the sky, but of the Sun! And the Sun is properly exposed.

In order to prove this was not post processed I have uploaded the original JPG (not cropped) straight out of the camera here: [link]

If you still want to insist this is post processed I can email you the NEF file!

To get to this shot I used a Nikon D90, 70-300 lens, Hoya CP and Hoya ND8 on a tripod and a remote to take the shot.

"The sun? Conscious? How?" "In a way lower organisms like you have difficulty to grasp. One thought from the source takes longer than a human life. A conversation with other stars takes thousands of your years." "All the stars are conscious?" A dry laughter resounded. "Of course. They are the original inhabitants of the cosmos. Without them there would be no organic life, let alone organic consciousness."
- Elian Lazaro, Elysium

"The sun alone appears, by virtue of his dignity and power, suited for the duty of moving the planets, and worthy to become the home of God himself."
- Johannes Kepler, The Harmony of the World
